Omicron Variant Virus and Booster Vaccine
Published on 24 December 2022
Omicron variant is the latest mutation of the COVID-19 virus to be considered a Variant of Concern (VOC) by the World Health Organisation (WHO). This variant emerged with the immunity generated by the world's increased vaccination. The variant, which first emerged in South Africa, has a faster multiplication period than previous variants, but less risk of severity. Even so, people still need to get a booster shot to avoid this variant.
