IEC media is a collection of various learning materials that serve as tools for information, education and communication for stakeholders involved in improving the healthcare system in Indonesia.

Anthrax

Anthrax, a zoonotic disease caused by Bacillus anthracis, affects mammals and some birds, with high mortality. It’s managed through mass vaccination, risk communication, animal traffic control, and proper carcass disposal.

COVID-19

COVID-19, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, affects the respiratory system and spreads through droplets from infected individuals. Prevention includes vaccination, hand hygiene, mask use, distancing, and public education to curb transmission.

Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD)

Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD), caused by Capripoxvirus from the Poxviridae family, affects cattle with skin nodules. It reduces milk production, spreads via blood-sucking insects, and is managed through vaccination and vector control.

Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD)

Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), caused by the rapidly mutating Picornaviridae virus, spreads through the air, affecting respiratory tracts of even-hoofed animals. It causes major economic losses, controllable through vaccination.

Rabies

Rabies, one of the oldest zoonotic diseases, has existed for over 4,000 years. Caused by Lyssavirus, it affects mammals' nervous systems, transmitted via saliva, with prevention best achieved through dog vaccination.
