Considerations for Animal Health in the Development of a 'Grand Design' for Expansion of Indonesia's Dairy Industry

President-elect’s commitment to provide 100 ml/day for 20 million children in Indonesia prompted the Directorate of Animal Health to identify the gap in the annual milk supply needs that must be met. This triggered a review of the national milk production expansion plan that is sustainable in the long term. Several recommendations that were made to support the national milk production expansion plan include assessing animal health threat risks, strengthening disease control, developing holistic animal health programs, and public-private partnerships.
