Enhanced Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Control on Java Island

President-elect Prabowo Subianto has launched a free nutritious meal program that includes providing free milk to 20 million children with an average requirement of 100 ml of milk/day. This drives the need for cow's milk production at a time when FMD is endemic, which threatens to reduce milk production, fertility, and increase mortality rates in cattle. Given this need, this document is prepared to provide recommendations for foot and mouth disease (FMD) control to support the supply of milk in the government's free nutritious meal program.
