Community-based Surveillance (CBS) Review in Indonesia

Community-based surveillance (CBS) aims to utilise networks and first-hand knowledge to rapidly detect new infectious diseases at source. In addition to its potential in detecting outbreaks early, the CBS model can also be developed to encourage the management of health resilience in the region that leads to improved preparedness, prevention and response capabilities. This document provides recommendations that can encourage the appropriate and effective use of CBS in order to increase the capacity of human and animal health systems.
