Lessons Learned from Community-Based Surveillance (CBS) Implementation in Indonesia

Community-based surveillance (CBS) plays an important role in strengthening national health security. Although there are currently a variety of CBS models for specific purposes, the diversity of these models is a challenge in complementing the Early Warning and Response System (EWARS). To implement CBS nationally, the CBS model should be designed by integrating the existing surveillance architecture, while improving the capability and capacity in data collection and analysis.
