Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD), often known as Lato-lato, is an infectious disease of livestock originating from Zambia, Africa. The disease causes fever, skin lumps and loss of appetite. Lato-lato is transmitted by direct contact, blood-sucking insects, food and water contamination, and from mother to offspring through the womb or milk. Early detection, reporting to the Puskeswan, controlling animal traffic, vaccination, and ensuring cleanliness of pens are steps that must be taken to prevent this disease.
