Beware of Anthrax! Do Not Slaughter Animals That Die Suddenly!

Published on 21 August 2024

Anthrax disease is caused by spores and can be transmitted through respiratory, digestive and skin infections. To prevent exposure to this zoonotic disease, livestock must be routinely vaccinated, monitored and cleaned. Some characteristics of exposed animals are blackish bleeding, sores in the mouth and tongue, and sudden death. Animals exposed to anthrax should not be slaughtered and sold cheaply to prevent disease transmission.
