To prevent anthrax exposure, the people of Yogyakarta should pay attention to where they obtain their animals. In addition to quarantining newly purchased animals, farmers should purchase animals from reliable sources. Farmers are also discouraged from feeding animals with a history of contamination as well as consuming fully cooked meat/animal products. The public is encouraged to contact the Livestock Services if there is a sudden animal death.
